Part 1 of the big showdown between Ash & his rival Arthur. Once the action starts there's no end until nail-biting cliffhanger ending. Yikes! And I don't have time to jump into the next volume yet. Argh!

  4. says:

    Shitbag Arthur is shitbag 🚶‍♀️

  5. says:

Boiiii! That was definitely foul play. Can't believe what just went down.

  7. says:

Me lo tomé con calma porque sigue ya el arco del hospital y ese es el que me da mas hueva de todos (pero me gusta igual).

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE WAY THIS ONE ENDED, I'M: SCREAMING.

5 stars. First of all, protect Ash at all costs. Second of all, that fight had me on the edge of my seat. Third of all, I love that I got emo like, twelve times reading this volume.

Ash has this moment where he realizes that he’s become a figure of fear and fear only, the blood on his hands is too much. He doesn’t know who he is anymore.

Ash and Eiji have an argument about Ash’s reckless murders, but this is what the majority of his life has been. Since Golzine picked him up and made his life hell. Eiji tells Ash that the Ash that kills and is reckless is not the Ash he, Shorter, or Skip knew. He really pulled that card on us, thank you for the wake up call but also, be gentle Ash must be protected. He tells Eiji that sure, he is exceptional, but he never asked to be. It was not the life he wanted.

*cough, I wanna cry, cough* the gang members tell Eiji that Ash goes to the public library when he wants to be alone... I’m- not okay.

When they started taking about death, I died inside. Especially because Ash said he did not fear death... I’m not okay part ???

Can Ash stop talking about what’ll happen after he dies. Like damn it, I know what’s up but stop.

The scene with the pumpkins was *chef kiss*

The little arrow on page 86 that just said “Actually he’s pissed off” was so adorable and funny.

So Ash confides in Eiji telling him about a girl he once loved, and how she was murdered because everyone thought they were dating. He is a gang leader so there was even more pressure.

I’m not saying that the expression in Ash’s face on page 90 was an open book, but I’m saying the expression on Ash’s face on page 90 was an open book saying:

“Oh shoot, here we go again, I’m in love but I’m scared to put their life in danger. What I do?” Ya know?

Bones and Kong know that Eiji will feel betrayed if they take him to the airport without telling him. They consider him a part of their gang, but Ash wants him out of America as soon as possible. So he can be out of danger. He can live with Eiji hating him for sending him away, but he can’t live with having his death on his hands. I’m-

Arthur is a sNAKE and he will get what he deserves omg, LEAVE ASH ALONE! That was over the top cheating. He bROKE the rules. I do NOT appreciate this weak ass move.

Not to be dramatic but that fight scene was one of the most intense scenes I’ve read about. I cannot. I had completely forgotten that dirty move. Arthur is TRASH and he cheats on an official fight, BOI GET OUT!

Damn when Ash caught that gun I knew it was over for these hoes.

Eiji woke up and he want immediately like: WHERE IS ASH? IS HE OKAY? OMG! WHAT?
I felt that. Those instincts kicked in really but when he realized Ash was in trouble. But also, I got flashbacks, is the scene coming where he is RUNNING towards Ash, cuz if it is... I call quits right now.

The direct attack on my Pisces heart. When Eiji remembered that when Ash would sleep he would curl up into himself and cry for his mother... what is this? And can I cry about it?

“For God’s sake, Ash! Don’t you see? It’s all so cruel if you die now!” Actually, I dare disagree with this statement. This WOULD HAVE hurt less, but that ain’t my bidness.

That cliffhanger... was a bitch. Time to jump right into the next volume.

  10. says:

The showdown the Banana Fish saga has been building towards is finally at hand.

Yoshida picks up the pace again and concentrates on bigger plot points, offering a titillating build-up that culminates in an ending that doesn’t quite work as well as one might have hoped. Fortunately, there is so much fascinating plot construction going on simultaneously that as a whole the volume emerges as another winning one.

We are left with a cliffhanger with a promise of good things to come.
